The "KinderPrep" Program:
"KinderPrep" is a nature based academic year Program designed for 2-5 year old children. We have developed a program focused on many aspects of Kindergarten readiness. Utilizing environmental and hands-on learning techniques, in a natural learning environment, we offer social, emotional, and academic support to future Kindergartners during our time together! Using a structured format we follow a daily routine, including daily circle time with calendar and weather. We share our time as both a group and as individuals focusing on fine motor skills; letter recognition, correct pencil grip, coloring techniques, and letter development utilizing the "Handwriting Without Tears" writing format; Language Arts, Science, Social Studies and Math activities; Creative Art, Movement and Music; and practicing appropriate classroom behavior, such as listening skills, using positive virtues and manners (including verbal, social, playground, and table,) playground and classroom safety, and learning to wait our turn! In this Program, we recommend children attend as many days as you can manage. Not only does the routine help prepare them for a full week of Kindergarten, but children attending less than 5 days per week will miss what the class is doing on days they are absent. Often one activity leads to another, or it will take us more than one day to complete a project. It can be frustrating for children who miss days and activities on a regular basis when they realize what they have missed. This program meets Monday - Friday from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Children may begin arriving after 8:45 a.m. and we appreciate pick-ups to be completed by 12:15 p.m. You may select your choice of up to five days per week based on space availability. "KinderPrep" is included in the "Pre-KinderCare" daily rate, or available separately.
